Hi, and welcome. Wifey Web was born because my beloved partner had been trying to finish his website since the day we started dating. Four and a half years later, still no website. One day, I took matters into my own hands, and two weeks later we had a beautiful, fast, functional site: 70-plus pages, dual-language, and SEO-optimised. That's when he started calling me his 'wifey...'

I build fast, clean websites for solopreneurs and small businesses like yours. I come to web development from an extensive career across digital marketing, SEO (in an ever-changing landscape), customer journey, business strategy, and operations. For years I ran the SEO and systems behind a website that grew to 20 million visitors a year, alongside years of marketing & strategy work with household brands like Uber and Sonos.

I've always had a creative streak, and I'm hopelessly devoted to making sites that look stunning. But my real USP is that I'm a systems-thinker who sees the bigger picture: how everything connects to do the jobs that matter, like actually getting you found and turning visitors into customers.

Think of Wifey as an antidote to the faceless agencies that stack clients like parcels on a conveyor belt. What you get is a site you fully own, that loads fast, and that you can update yourself, without the bloat, the lock-in, or the surprise subscriptions. I take on a few projects at a time, so yours gets my full attention. My promise to you is that I'll treat your site like it's my own.

How I work

How do you build websites?

When I build a site from scratch, I work in Astro. It only ships the code your site actually needs, so it loads fast and both search engines and AI can read it easily. I couple it with a CMS, so you never have to touch code and can edit your content anytime, and you own the whole thing outright.

Why not WordPress?

Over half the internet runs on WordPress, but I've yet to meet a business owner who's genuinely happy with theirs. They tend to be bloated and fiddly, and they almost always drag down your site speed.

What about the new AI "vibe-coded" website builders?

They look great on the surface and they're quick to spin up, but under the hood it's often a mess. Search engines struggle to read them, there's usually no proper CMS, and you're locked into someone else's monthly subscription with no real way out.

Can I edit my own content?

Yes, always. You should be able to update your own words and images whenever you like, without learning to code or paying me every time something small changes.

Do I actually own my website?

Completely. No lock-in, no rented platform, no surprise subscriptions. It's yours forever.

My site is already on Wix, Squarespace or WordPress. Can you still help?

Absolutely. If your site already lives somewhere and you mainly need it found, I'm very happy to work within your existing platform and focus on getting your SEO right.

My website is in Dutch. Can you work with me?

Yes. I've built two major websites in Dutch and I'm happy to take on multilingual sites. Dutch isn't my native language, so I won't copy-edit the words to the level I would in English. I get a long way with translation tools and careful structure, and you (or a native speaker) do the final proofread. The build, the SEO, and the multilingual setup are all me.

Do you do SEO?

Always. It's baked into everything I build, drawing on years running the SEO behind a website that grew to 20 million visitors a year. I also take on SEO-only projects, so you don't need a redesign or a brand-new site for me to help. I can optimise what you already have, whether that's light tweaks or a more aggressive growth strategy where it makes sense.

Can you help me get found in AI search, like ChatGPT?

Yes, and it's fast becoming one of the most important things I do. More people now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI for recommendations instead of scrolling through search results, and getting picked runs on different rules to classic SEO. I build sites that AI can actually read and cite, and I shape your content so it becomes the answer.

What if SEO isn't the right move for me?

Then I'll say so. I won't sell you something that doesn't make sense. If the search demand isn't there, or SEO isn't the smartest use of your budget, I'll tell you straight rather than over-promise. You'll always get my honest read on what will actually move the needle.

How do I know if my site needs work?

Run it through my free Mystery Shopper Scorecard. It gives you a quick, honest checkup on how your site is performing, with no strings attached, and it's a good place to start before we even talk.

What's the timeline for working together?

It depends on the scope of your project. The best thing is to send me a message or book a call, and I'll come back to you with a scope and a timeline.

Yours forever. No prenup required.

Want to work together?

I take on a few projects at a time, so yours gets my full attention. Tell me what you're building.
